My dryer quit heating about a month ago, ordered a heating element, replaced it, didn't work. Ordered the thermal cut-off and thermostat and it worked great for a month. A couple of days ago noticied it wasnt drying as well so made sure the lint vent was clean, it was ok but cleaned it anyway. Yesterday dried a load and they didn't dry. Found a clog at the bottom of dryer where the air goes into the hose. Cleaned it out and it still wont dry, air is moving through it good just no heat. I assume I need a new thermal cut-off and thermostat again but wanted to check before ordering. Thanks.

Do not rush with the parts. Make sure the dryer vent line is clean all the way through the vent outlet. Very likely you will have to call a special duct cleaning service, especially if the vent goes up on the roof.

Im sorry not very knowledgable about these things. Are you talking about the vent system that runs thru the dryer or from the dryer to outside? I assume thru the dryer but if you could clear that up. My lint trap is on the top of the dryer. The air that blows out the back of the dryer seems pretty powerful to me.

Both of them are important but the problems with the vent outside the dryer are more common. The first sign of a clogged vent is if the dryer heats up (warm inside) but it takes forever to dry a load. The house vent must be professionally cleaned at least once in five years.

ok I understand that but the dryer isnt even hooked up to the hose right now and still wont heat up. do you think it is the thermal-cutoff and thermastat went out again because it got clogged?

It is possible. You may want to check them for continuity first to know exactly what is wrong and not to throwaway money.
