I;m having trouble getting teh heating element cover off to check/replace the element that's installed. i'd appreciate any help in getting teh cover off.

As far as I know you remove the screw (Item 13 in Section 4) and it should slide out.

What you have to do is take the filter out of the dryer, and then take the 2 phillip head screws out, where you took the filter off, and then slide a putty knife under the top on the right side, about 3 inches from the end, and you will hit a clip to release the top on that side. Do the same on then other side. So once you get the top up, rest it on the back wall. Of Course the dryer is unplugged. Then if you look in the back of the dryer where the heater housing is, there is a funky little mtal piece attached to the top of the heater housing, and the other end goes to cabinet, and is held in by a 5/16s screw. Remove it, and then go to the back, and remove the wires, and the element housing. Then once you have the element housing in your hand, there will be a 5/16s screw, holding the element in place. Remove it, and slide the element out. There you go!! You think I have done that before???? LOL!! A million times in 30 years. Tom ********************************************
