dryer heats but not hoy

Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years

I have a soft heat kenmore dryer and it takes 2 70 minute cycles to dry a load of cloths. when it is running for a while i open the dryer and it is not very hot in there. the pipes are clean. is this dryer only ment to dry two things at once or is there something that can be done to make the heat hotter.
