Gene, I'm not sure, this past weekend I replaced the whole igniter assembly along with both coils and a heat detector. At one point it was blowing hot air but it's not consistant......Today i ordered 2 thermostats...Thank you for responding, I'll keep ya updated.

Gene M,
You did not answer these questions. Which parts exactly did you replace? Post the reference numbers from the diagrams. Gene.

Gene, here's the new parts list: (installed)
230- thermostat 407- thermostat 717- igniter assm. 552- heat detector 729- dual coil 731- main coil Somehow I passed it over in the beginning but this morning I ordered the "safety" thermostat a.k.a. thermal fuse. Gene thanks for lending a "helping hand" I've been out of work for over a year and a half and taken on "fix it" jobs I normally wouldn't do, so this site and people like you are a big help. Happy Holiday, Gene M .... Screamin Eagle |

Gene M,
Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately you are not alone in that boat. I'm afraid you spend much more money than needed buying unneeded parts. You had to start with investing some small money in a simple ohmmeter and performing a few continuity tests in order to diagnose the problem. A bad thermal fuse is the most common cause for non heating gas dryers. Did it fix your dryer? Happy New Year with a good New work! Gene.
