Model Number: fde336res2 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 1 - 5 years
My dryer won't start. A "repair man" directed me to the fuse, but when looking at parts manual on line the thing he told me was the fuse is called the thermal limiter.......is that the same as a fuse and would that keep the dryer from coming on?

Yes, Its #36!!!!! If you have a meter, check it for contineuty(sp) it should read closed, If you have NO meter, UNPLUG the dryer, pull both wires off the limit thermostat, connect the 2 wires together, tape them up and try to start the dryer, If it starts, replace the #36!!! DO NOT leave the dryer running without this part working correctly!!!!!

Thermal fuses blow if the dryer has a bad cycling thermostat, or clogged ducting. Before replacing fuse, measure the dryer temperature and make sure it is not higher than say 160 degrees.
