Is the bearing behind the drum suppose to be rigid and fixed or should it be able to wiggle some? I am having to replace the upper felt glide/guide because the plastic guides got ripped off. I am under the impression that it is due to the rear drum bearing being loose or worn. Upon examination the bearing is "wobbly" but not loose in it's attachment. What else could cause the guides to be torn off the felt? Thank you in advance.

Cosmo,

Yes , there is some movement in the drum bearing assembly, but not that much, based on your description(normal is 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch).

There are other possibilities, overloading, coins etc not removed from pockets, drum out of round and a few more but at this point, I don't think they would apply,

It really sounds like you need the rear drum bearing kit, as well as the front glide assembly.
