Try flipping the breaker off and on a couple times (not fast, but deliberately). Sometimes a doubled circuit breaker can appear to be on, while one leg of the power is actually dropped out.
Test the outlet for 240VAC between the two hot legs; Both should have 120VAC between each and the ground leg. If these are OK, Check the voltage at the back of the dryer, where the cord connects to the terminal block. Again, you should find 240VAC between the red and black wires, and 120VAC when you check between the red and green(or white), and the black and green (or white). Remember: You're dealing with lethal voltages here Let us know what you find. |
