Model Number: DCXR453EVOAA Brand: GE Age: 5 - 10 years
It takes our dryer 2-3 80 min cycles to dry clothes where it used to take 1. I have read suggestions you've made to other customers and this is what I've done. I have noticed during the load, that the heating coils will glow for a while, turn off, and then glow again. I took the dryer apart and cleaned out all the duct work within the dryer. I then eliminated the duct work through the house by running the dryer disconnected. The output temp of dryer without clothes is between 130 - 140 F. Once a load of wet clothes is in, the temp will remain between 95 - 100. Even with the dryer disconnected, it still takes 2-3 cylces to dry. Also, I don't know if this is relevant, but the automatic sensor dry has not been working so we just use time dry. Any suggestions?

Hi Ted,
I would recommend to replace the cycling thermostat (#230 on the break down diagram) first and check the blower wheel. If it would not help then replace the temperature switch (#87 on the break down diagram). Here are the break down diagrams for the GE dryer Model DCXR453EV0AA Gene.
