my dryer comes on and stays running for abou 40 minutes then quits running. when it cools off it will start back up. whats wrong? its driving me crazy.

Possible the motor is dying. The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it please.

As Gene said it sounds like the motor is overheating.

Check that the motor and it's cooling fins are not clogged with lint.

I had one a while ago that the blower housing seal was shot and it was blowing hot air back onto the motor causing it to overheat.

It is also a good time to clean/check your vent system.
