Question Dryer heats, but won't start up, makes "ugggggh" noise..
Model Number: LTE6234D80   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

I bought a dryer used. It has always dried less and less as we have used it. When I say it dries less and less, its not a heat problem but the amount of time it dries for. You put it on any setting and it will dry for like 10-15 minutes and then just turn off.

Fast forward to today; it barely turns on at all anymore. You press the on switch and occasionally it will turn on and dry for 10-15 minutes and then turns off. When you try to turn it back on again, it won't start up, it just makes a "Uggghhhhhh" sounds and if you hold it long enough, it just clicks and then won't do anything. 20 minutes later it will let you try again but it will repeat the "Uggghhh" sound and problem. Maybe 2-3 days later it will start up for 10-15 minutes and then repeat.

I have tested every fuse in this machine and they are all working.

I also turned the motor manually with my hand and it turns fine and the belt looks great too.

A local appliance repair place said they think its the motor. What do you guys think? I was about to order a motor but wanted a second opinion.

Motor Part Number: 3395655
Motor Model Number: S58NXMLF-6700

*NOTE* This washer and dryer is a stacked all in one unit, if that matters.

Help is of course MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

Here are your parts DQ6 is probably the closest to yours.
Replacement parts for LTE6234D80 models | AppliancePartsPros.com

I used your motor part number, crossed referenced is and they do match.
Part number: 3395655

Part number: 3395655

Click on the picture for more info.

It also sounds like a motor to me.

You might as well check all moving parts and seals in the unit while you are at it.
It is also a good time to check/clean your vent system.

The blower wheel is a left hand thread.
Do not be surprised if you have to break it as they often seize onto the motor shaft.
