My whirlpool will not start. I have killed the power and restarted, but no help. The timer still works and is clicking and the lights on inside, so there is power. I think its the starter switch, #ap2947429. On the webpage, it looks like it plugs in, a fairly simple replacement. However, as a car hot rodder, nothing has ever just bolted on. So where do I start to undo things to get in where I need to get, to replace this part?

Unplug the dryer and take off the back panel of the console. This will give you access to the start switch.

On your modle it looks like the knob will pull off. Then disconnect the wires, making certain to write down how they go back on. There should be an "arm" off the switch with a tab on it. Gently pull up on the arm to remove the tab from the slot and twist the switch.

That should do it.
