my kenmore dryer no heat. i replaced element. i also took the fuse at the top to a repair shop and they said it was still good. they told me the only other solution would be to replace the timer..does that sound like a true statemet?

David,

Make sure there is 240 VAC at the dryer outlet. The heating element needs 240 VAC while the motor needs only 120 VAC. If one of the two breakers for the dryer is off or is not working properly, the dryer will tumble with no heat.

How did you measure it? Which thermostat? Can you refer to the diagram numbers?

You have to check for continuity the thermal cut-off, the high limit thermostat and the operating thermostat (#1, #34 & #42 on the diagram). The timer is the last part I would think about.

- The thermal cut-off kit (the high limit thermostat included) Part number: AP3094244
Part number: AP3094244

- The operating thermostat Part number: AP3131939
Part number: AP3131939
