My dryer will get hot but not spin. I have taken the top off of it but am not sure how to remove the sides or anything else to see what is going on inside it.

It could be a broken belt. Can you hear the motor running?

The belt is still inatact. I have removed the top and the lower left panel on the back and can see the belt at both spots and it is tight. When it was running it sounded normal.

Will it run in "AIR FLUFF", or "NO Heat" cycle? Can you check to see if you're getting 120VAC at the motor when you select a drying cycle?

I tried to turn the dryer on to check without replacing all the screws. The dryer did not like this and shut off imdeiately. Blowing the breaker and the gfi. After resetting both and placing some of the screw back in to the dryer it will not trun on or show any indication of getting power. I think it is now time to drink heavily and hang clothes outside quickly before sunset. Tomorrow I guess I will have to break down and call a man....

Thank you for all of your help

Did you remember to connect the door switch? It needs to be closed in order to allow the motor to operate. Your discription of blowing the breaker suggests a loose wire making groound contact somewhere on the chassis.

I had a friend finally come over and look at the dryer. We are thinking that I blew the breaker because it was older and was having problems anyway, the dryer just added to it and the breaker needs to be replaced also. As far as the dryer goes, the motor is fine, drum still would not turn. We removed the door and it was stuck to the drum. The insilation or whatever type of seal that was around the drum to the dryer door had melted in a spot and fused itself to the drum, not allowing it to trun anymore.

We are going to replace the belt it is showing signs of ware and the seal that goes around the dryer. Some minor cleaning to get all the extra lent out of the inside of the dryer and it less that $20 on the seal and belt and shoulod be running like new to tomorrow

thank you for all of your help
