Hum when start button is pushed
Model Number: LER7646EQ0 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
When start button is pushed all you hear is humming, the drum does not turn (can turn drum by hand). Started after coming back from vacation. First it would start for about 15-20 minutes then shut down, would resart after about 30 minutes and now all you hear is a hum. Any help would be great.

All symptoms point to a bad motor. You can confirm this by putting 115 volts to pins 4 &5 of the motor and check. You can get your new motor here by clicking on your model# above.
