Default Dryer won't maintain heat, multiple cycles to dry.
Model Number: FDGB23RGS1   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 5 - 10 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com
So, I'm hoping for some good news. I have a Frigidaire Crown Series gas dryer that I'm guessing is about 5-8 years old (it was left behind from the previous owner). It's been working wonderfully until recently. I noticed that after a complete drying cycle, my clothing was still damp. So, I would need to run yet another drying cycle. After 2 full cycles, my clothing is dry. The machine runs, the timer works, but the heat is not consistent. At times, when I feel the machine, it is warm, at other times it is cold. I know that gas line is open and my natural gas intake is consistent. What else could it be?

(FYI- if you are able to make a suggestion, please keep in mind that I have no background knowledge to help me identify parts or their function... so please give very specific directions).

Thank you very much (in advance)!!!

On the gas valve there are 2 coils, I would bet that 1 of them is bad, But, they always come as a pair. Just be sure the dryer vent to the outside is clear, and the air blows real well. Thank you so much for the response! I live in a townhome and the association just mandated dryer vent cleaning, which occurred in June. So, I'm confident the vents are well ventilated. How much do you think these coils run as replacement parts?
