It seems that after doing the continuity test part #3977393 does not read. When checking for the part there are 2 parts that are shipped. Where does the second part go? The faulty on in above the heating element, there is a second fuse? below which reads fine. By the dryer duct to the outside there is another fuse which only reads 120. The diagram is confusing. Is there another way to see the back of the dryer? Thanks Skats:confused:

Listen there are three things to check, the element the thermal fuse, and the power. The thermal fuse is the part on the heater housing up top. The kit you got, came with the high limit thermostat, which is right next to the terminal of the element. Unplug the dryer, and put your meter on ohms. pull the wires off of the thermal fuse, that is located up top of the heater housing and check for continuity. If you get no reading, its bad. Do the same to the element. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

What are you calling "no reading"? When the needle moves all the way across the dial to zero. Or when the needle doesn't move and stays on infinity?
