OHM out the timer contacts if thats possible without a wiring diagram if that machine is all butchered up the guy probably fried the timer in it the two thick red wires should be the ones carring voltage to element

Whoa! Isn't the 220 in electric dryers split--110 for the motor, and 110 for the heat?
