Default Whirlpool ThinTwin Dryer not heating up
Model Number: LTE5243002   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: More than 10 years

Actual age of this unit is unknown. I can't seem to find any info about this model #.

This unit was originally in our 5th Wheel Trailer. When we sold the 5th Wheel Trailer we took the Whirlpool ThinTwin unit with us. We installed it into our mobile home. It heated up just fine in our RV.

But when moving it took a pretty good thump. Not sure if the heat element (or something else) might have been damaged in the move. The dryer portion has not heated up at all since we installed it in our mobile home. It is tumbling just fine, it is blowing air just fine - just no heat.

The plate inside the dryer says it is 240V. We have 220 to the plug in the wall. Is this possibly the problem? And if it is - how do I solve it?

Or is it possibly the Heating Element or even the Cycle Thermostate? I've been reading on other threads that both of these parts can cause problems with not heating - as well as the wrong electrical current.

This unit fits in my mobile home just perfectly and I would really like to get it working. I am not mechanically inclined - but being poor makes me try to do repairs on my own.

Any ideas?

I would start by removing the back off the dryer and checking every place where the wires connect for continuity with a ohm meter. If you don't have one you can pick up a cheap one for about $10 at almost any department store.
You will need to disconnect the wires off each thermostat and the element to check them. It is possible that it could be a loose wire if it was dropped pretty hard.
This should be the breakdown of your unit Model LTE5243DQ2
Keep me posted on what you find.
