My GE takes double the time to dry clothes. Ducts are clean. Heat assembly heats up and then shuts down for long periods of time (longer than my patience). I have tested the thermostats with my OHM meter and the one with four connectors reads good for the double white to double blue (wide side to side) but not for the single blues from narrow side to narrow side (reads replace). I tested this thermostat with all the wires disconnected. Part number appears to be

Thermostat (4-wire) - L210-30F.
Part Number: AP2044414 made by GE

I couldn't have done any of this without this website! Totally outside what I thought I could do. My question is-------did I do this correctly? According to the info I gave is this what needs to be replaced?

Those readings that you gave are correct, and means the thermostat is electrically good. Do this for me. Open the door of the dryer, and hold in on the door switch, and then hit the timer to heat, if that element inside glows real bright, your vent is clogged. It could be the vent to the out side, or the front of the dryer would need to come off, to check the blower assembly on the front to see if it is clogged. If the element is on, and not glowing real bright, then I would replace that thermostat. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
