Question Electric Dryer Not Heating
Model Number: LE7800XPNO   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: More than 10 years

Dryer runs and tumbles but does not heat to dry. Timer went out about two years ago and did not affect the drying process. So any ideas on what it might be. Our guess is the thermostat or the heating element???
Don't have meter to test. What should I do now????HELP!

The first thing to do is go to your breaker box and turn off the breaker for the dryer wait a few seconds and turn in bck on and try the dryer again. If that doesn't work then do the following:

If you don't have a meter, then the best thing to do is remove the thermostats on the element housing and the element and take them to a local repair shop and have them test them. That way you get the correct part(s).

Question Whirlpool Dryer Not Heating

Nat - Thanks for your reply. We borrowed a meter and the thremostat tested 00.6. There was no reading on the heating element. If it is the heating element how do I get it out of the machine???Breaker is OK.
Sheild around element appears to be welded.

Remove the casing out of the dryer then there's one screw near the bottom and slide the element right out. Part # 4391960 or from this site AP3109438
