Model Number: GGW9250PW1 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
my dryer won't start when i press and hold the start button. the interior light also stays on, the timer light flashes and it gives 3 rapid beeps. could this be a bad door switch? it's an older model but hasn't seen alot of use.

Yes it could be a bad door switch, or a loose wire connection. It could also be a bad main control board, but let's hope not. What about the door, does it activate the switch when you close it ? The easy test is at the main control board on connector P1. Pin2 (white) and pin 3 (blue). On the wires in the connector, when you remove the connector from the board, with the door closed your meter should read a closed circuit, open circuit with the door open. Anything other than that would indicate a bad switch or broken wire. If you have the proper readings then you've got a bad main control board.
