I have an Amana gas dryer. It heats for a few minutes, then quits heating, but continues to dry. Checked lint trap and ducting, fine. When on Auto dry, it never shuts off. Sometimes, it dries on timed dry just fine, and many times not. What could it be?

There are two failure suspects in my opinion: clogged vent and/or vent outlet and bad gas valve coils.

- The part number for the coil kit is AP3094251

Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana dryer Model LG8219W2
