My dryer will not light the gass. After a little research I bought a new igniter and flame sensor and installed them. Still it will not light. I checked continiuty in this manor. I turned my digital meter to the Ohm setting and switched untill holding the leads together I get a beep. Placing the leads on the connectors for the igniter I get 40. 3 and no beep. this is a new igniter the old one read 69.7 . They should read 0 and beep shouldnt they? Also could it be from the gas valve not passing current to start the igniter? I thought it worked the other way round but I could be wrong. Did I get a bad igniter or am I missing something else. Any thoughts?

On an electric dryer this fuse will blow and the dryer will not runa lid switch quick connect.jpgWhy? Because it is tied into the door switch and when it blows it is like opening the door. HOWEVER, on a gas model this fuse is tied into the gas carrying electrical components. So if it blows the dryer will continue to run but the gas valve, ignitor, and coils assembly won't get any power to it.
