Default Additional parts included in the 505471P Timer Kit for Electric Dryers
Model Number: LEA60AW   Brand: Amana   Age: 5 - 10 years

I recieved a 505471P timer kit to replace the original timer, on my dryer. It includes a Jumper wire which has a 1/4" terminal, on one end, and a 3/16" terminal on the other end. The instructions state to connect the 1/4" end, of this jumper wire, to the supplied connector (#21091) and then attach the 3/16" end, of the wire, to the timer. The instructions then tells you to attach the wire that you removed from the timer terminal to the other end of the supplied connector but the supplied connector has 1/4" ends, on both sides, so the wire that was removed from the timer, which has a 3/16" end will not attach to the connector. Is it necessary to attach the connector in the circut? The original timer did not have this connector and it ran for almost ten years. What is the purpose of this connector?

Hi James,

If you can post the copy of the installation instructions for this timer it might help better.

Gene.
