Thermal Fuse Was Bad (no Power To Ignitor Until I By-passed It) I Read That The Cycling Thermostat Or Operating Thermostat Should Be Replaced At The Same Time. Are They The Same Thing (cycling And Operating?) What If The Cycling Thermo. Tests Okay And The Vent Is Not Clogged. Don't Want To Blow Out The New Thermal Fuse On This Whirlpool Gas Dryer.

I would replace both at the same time and I always check all the venting too. There is another place lint can build up down below the filter area, before it gets to the blower. Yes the cycling and operating t-stat are the same, just different names people use.

After you get it reassembled check your airflow at the outside vent. Remember every 4inch elbow is the equivalent of 5 feet of vent. So the shorter and straighter the vent the better.
