Model Number: 417.90052990 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
The dryer will work properly for a short time and then the heat will shut off before the cloths are dry.
I have replaced the "Heat Control Switch" and the "Heat Sensor". I cleaned the inside of the dryer (all areas) and replaced the dryer exhaust line. I also checked for good continuity in all other vital parts (Coil, etc). I even removed the "Dryer Basket" and cleaned behind it! 1 - Will a bad "Moister Senor" cause the heat to shut off before clothes are dry? 2 - Can a bad "Coil" cause intermittent problems? A bad moisture sensore can cause the problem....although drying heavier clothes like jeans with a t-shirt can also get those results.
Simple because the t-shirt will dry much faster than the jeans and if the t-shirt happens to be over the sensor during it's reading that's the result you can get. You probably have noticed the schematic inside your machine you can look over thatn and follow which component affects which potion of the cycle. (You might also notice that your model is made by Frigidaire) hope that helps Nat |

I will check that...............
Does the moister sensor shut the machine off or just the heat? I read "Somewhere" that if the coil is "going bad" it can cause a similar type problem.......What are your thoughts on that? By the way..........Thank you very much for your assistance... |
