Short Gas Cycle
Model Number: LDG490 Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
I have a 30 second gas duration for about 8 cycles then no gas flame at all. Ignitor fires and glows brightly, then shuts down after no gas flame. Dryer never heats up fully when there was gas. There was a funny rattle noise when gas was trying to come on assuming solenoid failure.
Replaced both colis and ignitor - made sure dryer was free of lint, in and around everything. Dryer blows forcefully with no obstruction. No other funny noises as dryer drum rotates perfect - no obstructions. Burner sensor on left side tested OK for Ohms reading while off unit - entire burner assembly removed and cleaned for solenoid install. Burner now cycles on and off consistently for 30 seconds only, never reaching any higher heating level necessary for drying. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance..
