Default Stops early, now only runs on 1 cycle
Model Number: GEQ9858JQ0   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years   

Model: GEQ9858JQ0
The first symptom was the dryer would stop mid-cycle & the start button would have to be pushed to continue the cycle. This was an intermittent problem. Now the dryer will only operate on one setting, while not completing the cycle. It will only operate the length of time between the closest 2 lines. If the cloths are not dry, the “operating window” has to be restarted, as the start button will no longer continue the remaining time of the cycle. What could some of the causes be?

If you have no meter, I would pull the cover off the timer and check for burnt contacts.
