Model Number: MDG5500AWQ Brand: Maytag Age: 1 - 5 years
Dryer sensor times on display recently have increased by almost double the length of time it should take until dry, where it used to take 39 to 45 minutes to dry now up to 70 plus and still not dry, checked and cleaned entire vent pipe, very little lint was removed.
The discharge air through exhaust is pretty hot. I just used a digital meat thermometer and switched to a timed dry cycle the exhaust temp rose to 135 degrees in about four minutes, when I heard something happen from within the dryer and the heat diminished rapidly. Have a feeling one of the thermostats / controls / thermal fuse or cutoff and maybe even the igniter is not operating properly but which one. Hope you can help me out. Thank you in advance |
