Model Number: LER7648KT2 Brand: Whirlpool Age: More than 10 years
My dryer works for about 10 minutes then automatically shuts off. I took the back off and found quite a bit of dirt, and lint. I cleaned all that stuff out, ran it again, still ter about 10 minutes it shut down. What should I do next. The dryer is actually 7 years old.

Reach inside and turn the drum. Is it hard to turn? It may be that your rollers need oil. Remove the filter and the 2 phillips screws in the filter housing. Use a putty knife or a large flat blade to release the spring clips holding down the top. Take the screws off that hold the front panel on and raise up on the panel to release the bottom panel clips. Get the drum out clean the lint out. inspect, and oil the rollers and idler.Check the motor. The shaft should be freely turning.
