Hello,

I am trying to help my husband out and get him a place to start looking. Our Kenmore dryer stopped heating just two days ago. It seams to be spinning okay. I have the model number and the serial number for the unit. It is a 3 wire 120/240 volts 60 Hz motor 4.0 amps. Model/stock number 96575100 65751. Heater and accessories 23 amps. Serial number is ME4343497. I think we might have blown a fuse, because our tv in our bedroom quit about the same time. Could you tell me where to start?

Thank you

Sherry,

The first thing your husband may want to check is 240 VAC at the dryer wall outlet. The heating element needs 240 VAC to work, while 120 VAC will be enough for the motor. It suppose to be a double breaker for the dryer circuit and if one of breakers is off, the motor will work but not the heating element.

Gene.
