Model Number: DPGT750GC2WW Brand: GE Age: 1 - 5 years
Last week our dryer started making a "galloping" noise. With each revolution it sounded like "galump, galump". Today it added a screeching or scraping sound, so now it sounds like "galump - screech, galump - screech". I took the top off and noticed that the drum had a small crack in the front and would rub against the drum front (Part Number: AP3794645) .That's what caused the screeching noise, but I haven't figured out what is making the galump.
I suspect it's all related, but I don't know how. I'm reluctant to tear into it any further if the problem is beyond my skill level or too expensive to bother with repairing. So given the symptoms I've described, does anyone have an idea what might be going on? Ads By Google Related Models |
