Hello,
The drum on this gas dryer stopped turning. Tried again a few hours later & it worked, then after 4 hrs stopped working again & wouldn't turn any more. When pushing the start button there is a buzzing sound. After doing research I 1st replaced the belt but the drum still wouldn't turn.
I then unplugged the dryer from the wall & disconnected the belt from the idler & tried to turn the motor by hand. It wouldn't turn at all. Using a wrench it will turn. Then I plugged the dryer back into the outlet & had someone push the start button while I watched the motor. The motor would turn but slowly & quickly there was smell of something electrical burning. We stopped right away.

From what I can determine I think the motor is bad & needs replacement. Am I correct or is there any other possible cause?
