Blinking "Clean" light?

Blinking "Clean" light?

Model Number: GU2500XTPS1 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years

Dishwasher wont start, symptoms are:

Front panel "clean" light is blinking

pushing "cancel/drain" button causes timer light to display the number "2" and the washer motor to make sounds. timer light counts down to 1 and then times out and the motor stops.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated
