I have a defective (worn) spray arm. I have never replaced one. can I do it myself or do I have to call a repair company. It seems as though it should be a simple job.

Are you talking about the lower or the upper spray arm?

Click here for diagram. It's pretty simple. Unscrew the 3 piece pop-up kit (#549), unscrew #42, you can then get the spray arm off. Replace in reverse, give the spray arm a test spin by hand and you're done.

- Replacement spray arm, if you need it.

Thanks for reply. I'm 900 miles from home & will not return until the end of September. I will order the part on the 24 of September so I will get it when I return home .

Thanks again

PS; Is 3 piece pop-up kit left hand thread or right hand thread. I don't want to break anything.

I think on Whirlpool, the 3 piece tower is a left hand thread.
