when my maytag toploading washer stops during its cycles it emitts a loud squeal. I suppose its a bad brake like a car. how do I access the brake and repair it? thanks grandon benson

Here's the brake assembly. You access it by tilting the machine back and remobing the main pulley. Part number: AP4373089

thanks for the tool advice. Could you give me a little more description of what to do with the tool and what steps will be required to install the brake assy. ? Is there an exploded view of this brake and housing/assy.?till later, Grandon Benson
