soap dispenser won't open

My Dish Washer soap dispenser will not open automatically. The work-around is to open it mamually. What might be the reason and what part (part no?) needs to be replaced?

In addition, I notice minor leak because a cut at the tail end of the drain hose. Is this a common and/or universal part that I can buy from local Plumbing supplier? How do I repair it or must I replace the hose?

Has anyone found that replacing the dispenser itself resolves this. In my case, the gasket seems a bit worn and I will probably do the replacement of the door and the dispenser dish, unless someone has a better idea. I am a bit reluctant to start replacing any of the other parts, as it all looks a bit too complicated for me. Model No: mdb.7100awb. blarney
