Default Dishwasher Leak from bottom of door in front
Model Number: FDB1050RES2   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 1 - 5 years

Appliance Parts from AppliancePartPros.com

I have a leak that just started on a Fridgedair dishwasher that seems to be coming from the bottom of the door.

The unit is 100% level.

It only leaks when the jets are running full blast.

It looks like there is a seal along the bottom of the door. Should this seal run the whole length of the door?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Open the dishwasher door as soon as you see water leak and check for any suds or bubbles inside. Post the results.

Hi Gene,

it happens when I run it without any soap or dishes at all in the washer. The gasket at the bottom of the door, is that typically adjustable? I've found other posts on adjusting the lower door gasket resolving this issue.

Jeff,

The lower door gasket is not adjustable. It's recommended by the manufacturer to replace it. The instructions are attached to the reply.

- The bottom door gasket Part number: AP3959846

Part number: AP3959846

Default Similar issue on Kitchenaid

Not sure if I should brink up my issue as a reply or start a new thread?
I too have a unit leaking at the bottom of the door. Close inspection reveals dry fittings on intake, outlet and drain hoses. Dripping is coming from BENEATH the door where the electrical wires enter...and will increase it's rate if I press on the area surrounding where the wires penetrate.

Is this the lower seal also?

THANKS in advance for your assistance!

THANKS for your reply Gene....the model # is a Kitchenaid KUDR25SHWH0.

It is right where the electrical harness enters the bottom of the door....difficult to further identify w/o mirror...

There are two spots where the leak is more possible: the soap dispenser and the door vent. Remove the inner door panel and check for water marks inside. Post the results.

Gene.
removal of the OUTER door panel was exceeding easier and did reveal water dripping from both door vent and soap dispenser when running the unit.
review of the diagrams reveal a rubber gasket ring (#9)...I don't seem to see that when removing the grill...also please verify the veins should be oriented upwards / that the split in the ring should be at the 6 o'clock. I assume the gasket is applied beneath the grill? If that gasket doesn't get stop the water from the vent, I'm not sure how to remove/replace that vent? By removing the INNER Panel...and if so, is there a trick on how to handle the latch assembly when removing the inner panel?
What causes the soap dispenser to leak? I don't see a gasket? Would the application of a bead of silicone work? It appears the dispenser is removable from the exterior beneath the control panel.
At least by removing the exterior panel, I can see why the water was coming out from where the electrical runs thru the stiffiner....actually, the water would accumulate in the grids of the stiffiner before dripping out.
anxious to hear back from ya as I'm planning to stay up here (100 miles away from home) thru monday.....
THANKS a lot Gene

Sorry for the delay.

You can find some useful information in the Tech sheet.
