Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1 - 5 years
My Whirlpool du1050xtpb1 started leaking a small amount, a drip every 2 seconds. I pulled the unit out from under the cabinet and see that it is leaking underneath the left front side. Inspecting as best I can, it appears that the leak is coming from the junction of a copper pipe and a clamped black plastic pipe. At the junction is a series of small parts, one of which appears to have a ceramic component that has wires attached to it--perhaps it is a thermostat? Anyway, either the copper pipe or the black plastic pipe is bringing water into the system, something happens at the junction which is leaking, and the other pipe takes it away. What is the part at the junction that is leaking?
