Default Drain Solenoid Burns Out
Model Number: GSD2200G00BB   Brand: GE   Age: 1 - 5 years

Dishwasher quit draining so I replaced the drain solenoid. After about 5 days, the replacement solenoid burned out too. Any ideas as to what would case the solenoid to fail??

I know the solenoid fails because there is no continuity thru the coil when tested with my multi-tester

These solenoids can fail due to power surges, or the timer sticking in drain. These solenoids will burn up( usually with burnt/melted plastic covering) if the timer sticks. Just observe the timer to see if it sticks.
