Kitchenaid KUDR24SEBL0F: Replacing lower door seal
 

I had to replace a door spring that broke on the KitchenAid KUDR24SEBL0F. While doing that I remembered that the lower door seal had broken or fell off years ago, and I never got around to replacing it.

While picking up the spring at the dealer's service shop, I asked about the lower door seal, and the tech told me not to bother replacing it, that the dishwasher doesn't need it.

I have to say, I have never detected a leak from the dishwasher, but I wonder if I should replace it anyway. If I do replace it, how do you put it in? Does the inner door panel come off?
