My Maytag dishwasher door is opening quickly and is very heavy. I've been able to only determine it may be a problem with the door springs (?). If it is or may be the spring(s) how do I get to them to inspect or reattach or replace?

If you click on your model # on your initial post you will be linked to a breakdown of your DW.
You've either boken a spring or a link.
If you remove the bottom access cover you should be able to see them.
You may or may not have to pull the DW to repair it.
