Dishher stuck in water heat cycle

Model Number: Ultra Wash II Brand: Kenmore Age: Less than 1 year

Dishwasher sticks in water heat cycle at 57minutes. Water is hot. I tried running dishwasher without water heat cycle; works fine. Would a bad thermostat cause the water to keep heating> I noticed glasses cracking/breaking and an unexplained higher electric bill.
