Default Whirlpool lights flashing
Model Number: GU1200XTKB0   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 5 - 10 years

My dishwasher started acting up. During the rinse cycle, it starts and stops a few times, then the lights start flashing (normal, rinse). I can't figure out the pattern as it seems somewhat randome. Maybe I don't know how to read the error code. I even try to press "Cancel" and it won't cancel. It turns on the drain motor momentarily and lights out, blinks a little. I press cancel again and the same thing. I opened the door, waited some time, then tried a "Rinse-only" cycle. Again, it turned on briefly, lights out, then started blinking. It gets all the way through the was cycle during normal wash. It always gets stuck during the end of rinse (I think it gets stuck when its trying to drain).
Control Board? Thermostat? Drain Motor?
I have the manual but don't see anything regarding error codes. How can I read a flashing code sequence?
Thanks!!!

Unplug the dishwasher for a few minutes and plug it back. Sometime it helps to eliminate a problem.

I turned off the breaker for an hour and then tried again. It went through the cycle without a problem. I thought I was in the clear but it seems to do it again on occasion. Sometimes it will make it to "Clean" but sometimes I get the blinking lights at the end of the rinse cycle. My dishes seem to have a glaze on them too.
I can use more help.
Thanks!

moxie,

The picture you described is very unusual and there are too many different things which could cause it. The best solution in such situation is to call a pro to diagnose it.
