Default maytag dishwasher stops cycle starts clicking
Model Number: MDB9150AWB   Brand: Maytag   Age: 1 - 5 years

My dishwasher starts up with no problem and runs for about 20 minutes and then starts clicking at the same time every time and will not finish cycle regardless of which buttons i press. Any suggestions (contoller or float or other)?

Where this clicking is coming from - the control panel or the bottom of the dishwasher?

The clicking is coming from the control panel. The number flicks on and off with the clicking.

The first thing I would do is replace the electronic control.

- The part number for the control assembly is AP3158622

Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag dishwasher Model MDB9150AWB

I have a Maytag MDB9150AWW...similar model. The control board died about a week ago. I didn't have any clicking...I've posted elsewhere in the forum if interested.

If it is clicking in the upper door, I'd check to make sure the switches on the latch assembly are working. Just a thought.

Installing a control board isn't to difficult. I finished putting one in tonight. 1st, make sure power is turned off. Next, make a picture of where the wires plug in before you remove the defective board. This should be helpful when putting the new board in.

Based on suggestions from others, check the wiring harness for defects. I found that there were a couple of wires where the plastic sheathing was cut through, but the copper wire looked unharmed. I found this down where the door hinges. It looked like a metal part from the door had been cutting into the wires somewhat. I'm not sure if this is what caused the control board to fail. Anyway, I used some electrical tape to tape up the wires, and then also to cover up and sharp metal edges.
