I removed the Part (was still working - but had visible signs of wear and cracking). I found the part on this site, and looks like what I need to replace exactly. Other parts sites are stating that : (includes item 2 & electronic control) note: if heater element is removed, it must be replaced. The Heater is also kind of Square and not round like the one on this site.

Would it damage anything if I just replace with the part from this site?

What is the tub on your dishwasher made of?

If it's plastic, then you can use the heater with the part number AP4325066, which comes with the two rubber washers (item 2 on other sites).

If it's stainless steel, then you have to use the kit included the control board. The APP part number for this kit is AP3841139.

The note was right - if the heater is removed, it must be replaced.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid dishwasher Model KUDI01ILBL1

It's Stainless....so it looks like I need the this Kit. One question - The element I took out is round (rounded) . This one seems to be a different Shape? Will it still line up with the connectors (two) on the bottom of my Dishwasher.

Will this matter?

Well, this kit designed by manufacturer as replacement due to some problems with the old heater. It must fit.

Thank you for all your help - I ordered the part(s). I am good with electronics, but not clear on where this Control Board is located to replace?

It's located inside the control panel. Click on the link with the model number in my first post and review the break down diagram.

Hi,
I would like to know if the heating element AP4325066 comes with the two wires soldered to it (a long one and a short one).
When I dismantled my dishwasher to remove the heating element, I notice a long wire and short wire attached to it. The long one goes all the way to the the digital board and the short one on the back of the dishwasher.

In the picture for that part I do not notice those wires. I would like to know if I need to solder the wires to the heating element?
Regards
VVJ

VVJ,

You probably did not look close enough at this part. The wires never been soldered to it. There is a push on wire terminal on each wire. You have to pull the wire from the old heater and push it on the new one.
