Model Number: SHE43MO6UC/48 Brand: Bosch Age: Less than 1 year
I recently purchased a Bosch dishwasher, model SHE43MO6UC/48 and attempted to install it myself. I made the mistake of not using plumbing tape before putting the elbow on to the existing water valve assembly, and then when it tightened up facing the wrong direction, I cranked on it to get it pointing in the right direction. I then realized that I should never over tighten brass plumbing, especially with no threading tape on. Sure enough, this joint leaked. When attempting to remove the elbow, the entire existing brass piece rotated with it and I was unable to remove the elbow. I attempted to use plumbers epoxy to seal the joint, but the water still finds its way out very slowly. I then ordered the replacement water valve assembly from appliancepartspros.com (part # AP3783031 (425458)), and upon removing the existing assembly, I noticed that the current wires going to the factory assembly terminate in a small plastic box and the existing assembly has a small plastic receiving box atop the teal colored cylinder for this to click in to. The new replacement part mentioned above, does not have this receiving box, it just has 2 vertical metal posts with a single hole in the center of each extending from the top of the teal colored cylinder. It is not as easy as moving the plastic box from the existing assembly to the new one as they are not compatible. Do I have the wrong part or is it just slightly different than the factory part and I can make it work somehow. Please help. This is a brand new dishwasher that has never been run and I just made a really stupid mistake by over-tightening the elbow for the water supply hose and ended up in this mess. So far, I've yet to spend the $150 Sears would have charged to install it for me and I'm gaining all this experience, but it's getting to be quite a headache. Thank you.

Nick
You do have the wrong part the wire connection on the valve has been the Rast connection (little box) for over a year now. You need to order Part Number: AP4070550 (Bosch part # 607335) Your model number is correct the model was new in March 07 I don't know why it isn't comming up here. |
