Model Number: 665.16982200 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
The loud Noise started appox a month ago and only has done this 3 times since. The Noise lasted for appox 1/2 hour and restarts did not change it. I looked to see if there were anything plugged from what I can find. Since I can not find any doc's for this model it does not show up on this site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I beleive this is the tech sheet for your unit
http://www.servicematters.com/docs/w...%208537797.pdf Open the pump up nad check it for debris. Could be something in there that is floating around and every once in a while causes a problem. Check the water level when it runs OK. The the next time the noise happens check the level. Could be that it is not filling with enough water occasionally causing the pump to cavitate (suck in air) and make a racket. The most common cause of a low fill is a dirty filter screen on the input side of the water valve. Remove the valve and check it. If dirty clean it. Do not remove/discard the screen from the machine as it is there to keep crud out of the valve which could hold it open and cause a flood. Usually low fills due to the screen happens all the time but perhaps yours is just on the edge. Most units fill to just under or just over the heating coil. I am not sure which applies to your unit.
