Exclamation Door Latch Broken
Model Number: 154537304   Brand: Frigidaire   Age: 5 - 10 years   

The latch on our dishwasher broke and it became loose. We ordered a new Latch Assy, but now we do not know how to install it. Any suggestions??

In order to provide most accurate advise we need the complete model number of the dishwasher. The model number you posted is incorrect.

I'm sorry, I think the model # to the dishwasher is GLDB653AQ1. Does that look better? The part # is 154537304. Thank you!

Open the door and remove all screws holding the door panel.

Remove the outer door panel and put it aside.

Remove the two screws holding the door latch. Slide it up and pull toward yourself.

Remove the wires (one at a time) from the old latch and attach them to the new one.

Assemble everything in the reverse order.

Hi Gene,
I have a same issue for my FRIGIDAIRE FDB345LFR1, black, with door latch handle broken. I ordered the part(#941591, Door Latch Assembly) but not sure how to replace that.
shall I follow the same steps as your posted on 03-25-2008, 04:46 pm
