Having water delivery problems in 20 year old diswasher-only runs for about 3 minutes befor giving me the C5-not enough water,check water supply code. Pulled it out from under the cabinet, checked the supply line-good pressure. Had some high water pressure in the main lines (125PSI) but got it under control with a new pressure regulater valve. Pressure seems fine at the dishwasher inlet now-not high but very good. What are the chances that the water inlet valve is bad, and how hard is it to replace?

An easy way to check your water supply to your dishwasher:
After 3 mins. from start up, open the door and visually check the bottom of your dishwasher.

If you have an insufficient amount of water, you'll want to replace the solenoid valve.

If you have a sufficient amount of water, the volute (intake) portion of the pump is most likely in need of some cleaning. The disposal is incorporated into the volute, see that it is clean and in proper working order. Be sure to inspect the pump impeller for necessary cleaning and in good condition. ( no cracks,etc.)
Any restrictions in any of those parts of the pump will certainly drop your unit's internal water circulation pressure.

Remember to unplug your unit before working on it.

On a 10 yr. old + dishwasher, you may want to consider a new replacement unit before you invest any funds into your old dishwasher - that has served you well!
The new energy saver units are so much more efficient, do a much better job at cleaning, and so much quieter.
